Scientist looking at petri dish

A new podcast developed by postdoctoral researchers at the University of Birmingham aims to provide accessible insight into global topics from the perspective of postdoctoral researchers and experts in the field.

The Port Postdoc podcast aims to provide accessible insight into global topics from the perspective of postdoc researchers and experts in the field.

Hosted by Dr Erik Hughes, a research fellow at the Healthcare Technologies Institute (HTI), based in the School of Chemical Engineering, the first episode highlights the contribution Birmingham's researchers are making to tackling barriers to physical health around the globe.

Dr Hughes interviews Dr Vivian Lee and Dr Thomas Hall. Dr Lee's expertise centres around the development of an online intervention promoting the Mediterranean diet and physical activity for those at risk of developing dementia. Dr Hall's research is focused on developing new treatments to tackle the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance.
