We are delighted to announce that, in recognition of her extensive and long-standing experience and networks in the UK, and internationally, in the field of citizenship, Professor Dina Kiwan, has been appointed as a member of the UK Home Office’s Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) for 3 years from 1 May 2021.

The MAC is an independent, non-statutory, non-time limited, non-departmental public body that advises the government on migration issues. Dinah's research focuses on citizenship, inclusion and is interdisciplinary and comparative in scope. She is currently the main PI for the Disability under Siege Research project which brings together researchers, educational practitioners, advocacy organisations and disability led groups in the UK and Middle East to provide intellectual and logistical resources that local practitioners need to transform education provision for children with disabilities in conflict-affected countries.
