A team of our academics from the Department of Theology and Religion have been asked by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to design and write a new core training course for them, on ‘Religion & Belief for Foreign Policy’.

The programme’s six modules look at a variety of religions from Buddhism to Zoroastrianism and their impact upon everyday life and public policy across the world, helping all the UK’s diplomats understand the relevance of religion for their work.

Our Department is therefore shaping the future of British foreign policy and helping the UK’s representatives overseas engage all the more effectively with the many varied expressions of faith they encounter week on week.
