This event will launch a landmark independant Commission by the University of Birmingham in partnership with Demos.  The Commission will draw together the University's expertise in local government reform and Demos' work on capabilities and citizenship in order to contribute to the development of a policy agenda that might effectively and fairly empower non-state actors in society.

This panel will explore how to transform the idea of the 'Big Society' into a practical reality.
