This inaugural lecture will be given by Professor Lucinda Billingham, Professor of Biostatistics, School of Cancer Sciences, College of Medical and Dental Sciences.

The evaluation of interventions for treatment of cancer through clinical trials is a major research activity at University of Birmingham. The portfolio of trials is diverse, covering both early and late phase with associated translational research and a wide range of different diseases with interventions ranging from lifestyle and nutritional through to novel drug therapies. The design, conduct, analysis and presentation of trials require sound methodology to ensure that the evidence-based decisions made by the clinical community are valid and will improve patient care.
