How can I personally support the project?

Do you want to inspire young people to consider a career in tech? Then become a Tech We Can champion!

In the first phase of the programme Birmingham Digital Futures, will be sharing access to educational resources designed by Tech She Can. The resources are aimed at young people aged 5-14 years old and are designed for use by teachers, parents, and non-specialists.

The resources aim to inspire young people into careers in tech and explore the role of technology in areas from sport to food, the environment and outer space.

You will first need to register as a STEM Ambassador before delivering any content to students (this is a free process and a requirement assuming you're not a qualified teacher). Becoming an ambassador provides you with:

  • A free DBS check
  • An induction to working with young people
  • Access to a variety of STEM resources
  • Access to a community of like-minded STEM volunteers

You will then need to register as a Tech We Can Champion so Tech She Can can provide you with a 1-hour training session on their content and match you up with local schools.
