Mark Pawsey MP visits High Temperature Research Centre
Mark Pawsey, Conservative MP for Rugby, visited the High Temperature Research Centre (HTRC) on Thursday 10 November 2016 to see the latest developments in the innovative manufacturing facility.
Professor Andy Schofield, Head of College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, welcomed Mr Pawsey to the HTRC to discuss the work it is doing to support manufacturing in the Midlands.
His visit coincided with delivery of the first set of nickel superalloy single crystal components for testing in a future generation aero engine.
Mr Pawsey was given a tour of the facility, a joint collaboration between the University of Birmingham and Rolls-Royce. The Centre is a unique casting, design, simulation and advanced manufacturing research facility.
