KTP Associates Conference 2017

On 21 June 2017, the annual KTP Associates Conference was held at the University of Birmingham.

Jointly hosted by the University of Birmingham, Aston University, and Birmingham City University, the conference celebrated the successes of collaborative work undertaken by KTP Associates through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme. The conference was opened by Professor Tim Softley, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Birmingham with additional keynote speakers including Professor Paul Maropoulous, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise at Aston University, and Mark Smith, Director of Enterprise and Employability at Birmingham City University.

The conference provided KTP Associates with the opportunity to showcase their work through both oral and poster presentations. Posters were judged in two categories - Early to Mid-Stage Projects and Established Projects – with the prize for best poster awarded to the following Associates:

  • Early to Mid-Stage: Douglas Moore, Monkfield Nutrition Ltd and University of Nottingham
  • Established Stage: Wajahat Kazmi, Wheelright and Aston University

Oral presentations were delivered by Associates on the benefits of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership model to their project. The prize for best presentation went to:

  •  Elena Perez-Barrado, Keeling & Walker and Keele University
