DIGI-RAIL

Covid-19

The safety of our staff, students, partners and visitors is of paramount importance. Our team are working remotely, and we are still here to field queries, answer questions, and provide both technical and non-technical support to help build resilience in your business in these challenging times. Please do not hesitate to contact us at digi-rail@contacts.bham.ac.uk.

DIGI-RAIL is an SME-focussed project, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the University of Birmingham and sitting within the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education (BCRRE). The project provides support to eligible SMEs looking to enter or grow their business in the rail industry, with a focus on the Digital Railway.

DIGI-RAIL provides technical and non-technical support to eligible SMEs who would like to learn more about the rail sector, how to get involved, and what to consider. We also support SMEs that already have digital products or processes but who would like to improve or adapt their design and offering for the rail industry.

We do this by providing world-class technical expertise and access to demonstration facilities, technology providers and rail industry providers, and we facilitate collaborative R&D partnerships to develop new digital rail products and processes. DIGI-RAIL enables SMEs access to academics, skilled researchers, and lab facilities with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, as well as connecting SMEs with business and supply chain specialists, technical experts with specialist skills in designing and developing digital solutions, and a network of contacts across the rail industry.
