The module offers a broad based introduction and analysis of some of theimportant ideas in the study of education, learning and teaching overthe last century which continue to inform current education debate, research, policy and practice in national and international contexts. The module encourages you to critique and evaluate the impact of different theories of learning and teaching on educational thinking and practice. You will have the opportunity to consider and apply one or more of these perspectives to your particular domain of research and to your professional work. Where possible the theoretical content of the module will be illustrated by research projects in the School, or other institutions, which have received national and international recognition.
