This HAVS course will act as a refresher course for Doctors and Nurses to update their knowledge and clinical skills as well as share experiences of cases they have assessed and managed. Updating knowledge and evidence base is also an important element of revalidation for OH practitioners.

The course will include lectures, discussion of clinical cases, using a video to explain and discuss steps in conducting a clinical assessment, demonstration of instrumentation used in clinical assessment. 

Learning Objectives

  • Updating knowledge of legal aspects and recent enforcements in the field 
  • How to review work place risk assessment including common failings
  • How to systematically diagnose cases of HAVS 
  • How to advise on fitness for work

  • Legal requirement –overview and update
  • Health surveillance in practice 
  • Requirements of a suitable and sufficient risk assessment including exposure assessment
  • How to conduct a clinical examination (discussion of video)
  • Staging, diagnosis and management of cases 

Is this course accredited? 

We will seek accreditation from the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians.

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance

When does the course run?

We plan to hold it twice a year, Spring and Autumn.
