Your programme of study

The Online MBA Clinical Leadership aims to develop innovative forms of leadership, combining the management focus of traditional MBAs with the unique challenges of modern healthcare. Through comparative methods, you will learn to take into account relevant similarities and differences amongst global healthcare systems when managing clinicians.

The three specialist modules will allow you to address topics such as the particular challenges and opportunities of leading clinicians, the importance of governance, policy, and regulation in healthcare settings, and how digital technology is revolutionising the sector.

The programme is designed to empower you to manage and lead healthcare professionals, understand and influence policy, and achieve strategic level changes within health services. You will develop an understanding of the value of innovative care delivery models and advanced digital technology in creating and maintaining sustainable healthcare systems.

Modules

The Online MBA Clinical Leadership is a 180 credit, 30-month programme of study. As a student on the programme, you will complete nine core modules and choose an additional three elective modules (followed by a dissertation), to graduate with the full masters qualification. Note that your choice of elective may increase the duration of the programme.

Dissertation

To fulifil the requirements of the masters degree, students then have the opportunity to complete a dissertation at the end of year two. This is a research project which can be tailored to a specific area of interest, or to your own work environment. The dissertation is equal to 60 credits of study.

The full cost of this programme is : £24,284 GBP. This can be paid in full or in instalments of £1,868 per module. 

Scholarships

International students can occasionally gain funding through overseas research scholarships, Commonwealth scholarships or via your home government. It’s good to do your research to find opportunities which you could be eligible for.

Our Standard Requirements

In order to be eligible for the Online MBA Clinical Leadership, you will need to have obtained (or be predicted to obtain) an upper second-class degree or postgraduate diploma from a UK university OR an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.

We also require that applicants have at least 3 years of relevant management experience within a health industry or clinical setting that they can display as part of their application.

Standard English language requirements also apply. If English is not your first language, you must also have an up-to-date English language test certificate. We accept an Academic IELTS certificate with a grade of 6.5 and no less than 6.0 in any band. Other forms of English language certificates are accepted. In some modules there will be live lecture sessions. Dates and times for these sessions will be communicated to you once you begin your studies. In each live session you will have the opportunity to present your work and/or discuss case study exercises.
