Delivered in conjunction with our partners, the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), this degree will give you a clear understanding and application of economics theory and techniques to modern businesses in emerging and developing countries.

Objectives

The MSc Economics degree will allow you to:

The choice of modules is subject to change and will follow changes according to the programme in the UK. As you will appreciate key members of staff may leave the University and this necessitates a review of the modules that are offered. Fees

Total fee: S$26,964. 
Per 10 credits fee: S$2,247
Per 60 credits fee: S$13,482

Full-time: Payable in two instalments of 60 credits each
Part-time: Payable on a per taught module basis

Fees are inclusive of prevailing GST and do not include textbooks. Fees are payable before semester/module commencement. Please refer to SIM GE website for the latest fees.

Monday 1 July 2020 is the application deadline for international students (Tier 4) who wish to study in the United Kingdom. We are not able to consider applications for 2020 made after this date. The deadline for Home/EU (non-Tier 4) students is Monday 10 September 2020. Applications will reopen for 2021 entry in early October 2020.

Our Standard Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related discipline (Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent); or
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonEconomics fields of study (Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent) and have a background in Statistics and/ or Calculus at least at GCE ‘A’ level or polytechnic diploma level subject to the successful completion of a 3-month SIM Preparatory Course in Economics; and
  • A minimum C6 pass in English as First Language at GCE 'O' level.
  • All other qualifications will be assessed on individual merits.

Other requirements

These are required to be submitted with your application:

  • Two satisfactory references of which one must be academic related
  • A letter of academic interest and objective in undertaking postgraduate study

All admissions are based on merit and are subject to the final approval of the Programme Director. Applicants may be interviewed prior to acceptance into the programme. No exemptions will be granted. Applicants with a work permit or employment pass can be considered for admission into the Part-time programme.
