Using evidence in school improvement (Module 23964)

This module will enable you to take a constructive and critical view of evidence relevant to professional practice in pursuit of school of improvement.

It will equip you to undertake research in professional contexts which is directed towards improving school outcomes. Particular attention will be paid to the scope for using randomised controlled trials to investigate the effects of different approaches to school organisation and teaching. The module will also provide a basis for the design, implementation and evaluation of the work you undertake for your dissertation.

  • A critical evaluation of two pieces of published research relevant to school Improvement (3000 words)
  • Provide an outline for small-scale practice-based research in a school (1000 words)
