Advancing Care for Older People with Complex Needs

Module overview

This six-day course aims to advance your knowledge and skills in person-centred care for older people with complex needs. Delivered in partnership with clinical and mental health experts, this multi-professional course focuses on high quality interpersonal skills for older persons care. You will also gain knowledge and skills in interdisciplinary, multi-agency working for older persons and their carers at the interface between domestic (home) environments and acute and community services.

At the end of the course you will be better equipped to undertake person-centred assessments of older people’s needs in a range of settings and to make a meaningful change to your practice. It is an excellent option for those who lead and manage change in older persons care, as well as for those who wish to advance their interpersonal skills in working directly with older people in what is often perceived as challenging communication contexts.
