The module will describe briefly the main features of human ageing across the main body systems and the impact of current demographic change. It will focus on the mechanisms that drive ageing and the genetic and environmental factors known to influence lifespan and healthspan. The module will include practical teaching in epidemiological methods and the insight into influences on human ageing that can be gained from longitudinal data.
Module attendance required
The module will be delivered by a combination of didactic lectures, tutorials, analysis and interpretation of data, practical lab based teaching with a total of 81 contact hours.
