You will be required to attend 2 research paper analysis presentations of 30 minutes each per week for 18 weeks in semesters 1 and 2. You will learn to analyse and critically appraise research papers in immunology, stem cell biology and hormonal gene regulation and to present your findings orally to your peers. Each student presents at least one research paper. You will also attend lectures of core research skills run by the Graduate School. These include statistics, research ethics and introductions to a broad range of technologies available across the College.
Module Attendance Required
Approximately 20 half days per week for 20 weeks in semesters 1 and 2
The module is assessed by a mixture of the oral presentations given throughout the course and a portfolio (you will accumulate a portfolio of papers from the Journal Clubs and the Skills lecture course, which will be assessed by a discussion between you and an assessor).
