MBA Offer Guide

Congratulations on receiving your offer to study one of our MBA programmes at the University of Birmingham. This offer guide will outline our admissions process and help you with your next steps.

The Birmingham MBA has held a place at the forefront of business education since 1902; it is internationally-acclaimed, constantly ranked in global ranking tables and accredited by leading bodies AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. We offer world class teaching across a range of degree courses, delivered on campus, online and overseas. 

Accepting your offer

Now that you have your conditional offer, you need to inform us of your decision. Using the admissions portal, you can firmly accept your offer of a place. If you do not accept by the deadline, your offer will be declined by default.

There are a number of conditions attached to your offer of a place to study an MBA programme. All applicants are required to meet these conditions.

Academic conditions

If your offer is conditional upon obtaining a degree, the offer letter will state the level required. When your degree results are known please send the original certificate or a transcript to the Admissions Office at the address stated within your offer letter.

If you have already obtained your degree we will also ask for verification. If your offer is conditional upon providing evidence of GCSEs, you will be required to submit the original certificates.

Projects and the Deloitte Challenge

Full-time MBA students will have the opportunity to take part in four distinctive enterprise projects to enhance their understanding of UK and international business.

Each project is designed around the consultancy process and you will be responding to a real company’s brief to provide meaningful and insightful recommendations. Projects are designed to help you develop more independently while responding to increasingly complex demands.

Delivered exclusively by Deloitte, this intensive consultancy training programme is a great example of the enhancement activities available at Birmingham.

Alumni Ambassador Scheme

Our Alumni Ambassadors allow you to connect directly with our graduates for first-hand experience of all that the Business School has to offer, whilst our Alumni Career Profiles catch up with our graduates to find out about the careers and successes they have gone on to achieve.

Accommodation

Full-time international and non-UK nationals are guaranteed University postgraduate accommodation if they submit the online accommodation application form by 31 July 2018. 

UK nationals studying on a postgraduate programme are not eligible for University accommodation. There is a limited supply of University-managed accommodation in houses owned by the University or private providers. The Accommodation Services LIVING office is located on the ground floor of University Centre and can assist with any help and advice you may require; along with a contract checking service for renting in the private sector.

Employability and Careers

From the very start of your MBA, you receive bespoke advice from our employment consultants to take you to the next level and to open doors to a range of potential employers.

Through one-to-one coaching, our industry experienced employment consultants work with you to clarify your aspirations and support you in your future career to jointly develop a winning employment strategy for you. Throughout the programme, you will have the opportunity to be involved in group and individual activities, all aimed at helping you to develop the skills and techniques which lead to highly successful employment outcomes.

Accreditation and Rankings

Choosing the right business school, MBA or Masters programme is a decision that may involve a sizable investment in terms of time and money with the expectation to generate significant returns.

Therefore, it is a decision that justifies a great deal of careful selection and research. Accreditation and rankings are two key factors that may play an important role in your decision making process.

How to Register

If you have accepted your offer and met the conditions, you will receive a communication from the University before the start of your programme. Information regarding registration (such as where and how to register) and other important details will be included in this communication. 

If you have received your unconditional acceptance communication, are shortly due to be arriving at the University and have not yet received information on how to register, please visit the registration pages on our website.
