Postgraduate Offer-Holder Day

Congratulations on your offer to study at the University of Birmingham. We would like to invite you to attend our exclusive Offer-Holder Day.

Domes at sunset

Our bespoke Postgraduate Offer-Holder Day is exclusively for offer-holders planning on joining us in the 2020/21 academic year. This event is by invite only and you will receive your invitation via email, where we will direct you to book your place.

You will be able to meet current students, engage with your peers and explore our campus. It is your opportunity to visit us if you haven't been able to make it so far, to ask any questions you have about postgraduate life. If you've visited our campus before, this day will help you to explore Birmingham in more detail, get to know your school and meet other new students.

Please note: The below is the information for our most recent Offer-Holder Day event in June 2019. We will be announcing our next Offer-Holder Day in spring 2020.

Important information

Our Postgraduate Offer-Holder Day will run from 13:00 - 18:00* on Monday 3 June 2019. There will be subject-specific events based around these times, which can be found on the College Offer-Holder Day events pages.

*Please refer to specific College timetables to plan your day, as all times vary.

Admissions Document Checking

You will also be able to bring your documents to our admissions counter (located on the first floor of Aston Webb Building) between 13.00 - 16.00 for checking. Applicants can bring their documents for inspection, copying and immediate return as part of the PG Offer Holder Day. You will also be able to visit the admissions stand on the first floor of Bramall Building for general advice.

Plan your Day - Central timetable

Our Offer-Holder Day is a chance for you to visit our campus if you haven't been able to make it so far. It's also a chance to meet fellow applicants, engage with current postgraduates and speak to our support services. It's a great opportunity to network over some food and drinks with your peers and to find out what life as a postgraduate student at Birmingham is like.

There will be a series of talks throughout the afternoon followed by College specific events.

There is also a chance to meet with many of our support services. Admissions, Housing and Accomodation Services, Library Services and Disability, Learning Support, Counselling and Guidance are just some of the services that will be in attendance to chat about any queries you may have before beginning your course.

Visit our city

Birmingham is a cosmopolitan and vibrant city with plenty of cultural and social opportunities. Why not take this opportunity to explore our city and truly experience all that Birmingham has to offer. From superb shopping facilities to world class museums and art galleries, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Travelling to Offer-Holder Day

Parking on campus is currently very limited due to several major building projects that are taking place as part of our £600 million campus redevelopment and visitors will likely be unable to find a space. We, therefore, recommend that visitors use public transport or park and ride facilities to reach the University.

The University has its own railway station (University Station) on campus and this is the easiest and most efficient way to travel to the University. We would recommend that visitors use the station, either travelling by train for their entire journey or to complete their journey.

There are a number of NCP and City Council car parks across the city centre along with large shopping centre car parks and there is a direct train line from Birmingham New Street to University Station. The journey takes approximately 8 minutes from Birmingham New Street and up to six trains an hour depart for the University on the cross-city line (final destination Longbridge or Redditch). Alternatively, if travelling from Longbridge, visitors should use trains travelling towards Lichfield to reach the University.

If you do need to drive to the University, parking is located at the North East Car Park (B15 2SA) on Pritchatts Road, however due to the limited number of spaces parking cannot be guaranteed and we strongly advise you consider the options above.

Anyone with a blue badge can park in the disabled parking bays on campus. Please report to the East Gate entrance where a member of the Security team will direct you.
