Air pollution

Air pollution damages human health, ecosystems and vegetation, and is expected to worse in many regions across the globe.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), air pollution in 2012 caused the deaths of around seven million people worldwide.

We are working to identify the different causes and effects of air pollution, to help develop public policy and clean air solutions around the world. 91% of the world's population lives in places where outdoor air quality exceeds WHO guideline limits. We are working to understand how to save lives at risk from air pollution.
