Cancer research

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death, with 8.8 million deaths in 2015.

As cancer is a class of diseases, it is unlikely there will be a single cure. Our research makes a powerful contribution to understanding how genetic abnormalities within cancer cells lead to disease.

Our researchers are world leaders in the areas of cell and molecular biology, immunology and virology. Although treatments are improving, some cancers are still difficult to treat. We play a significant role in accelerating the ultimate control of cancer.
