What career combines international affairs and language skills? What job takes you from the Dead Sea, to the Spanish Cabinet Office - or to a municipal waste dump? How do people learn to interpret simultaneously from one language into another? Kirsten Coope, a former European Parliament staff interpreter now training student-interpreters at the University of Manchester, will discuss career prospects and the skills you need to become an interpreter for the European Union, United Nations or on the private market.

Speaker: Kirsten Coope

Venue: Arts Building, Lecture Theatre 6
