Research summary

Yichang joined the Centre for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Research in September 2019. Prior to this, he graduated from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in January 2019 with a Master of Environmental and Science degree. He was funded by the CSC-EPS scholar.
Yichang's current research aims at reducing the fuel crossover in alcohol fuel cells with graphene oxide nanosheets.

Qualifications

BSc: Environmental Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing. 2016MSc: Environmental Engineering and Science, University of Science and Technology Beijing. 2019

Biography

During the BSc, Yichang's research mainly focused on wastewater disinfection using UV light which included two years of operating experience at a wastewater treatment plant. During his MSc, Yichang turned to the investigation of photocatalysis disinfection as well as nutrient recovery from human urine and faeces.

Research

Yichang aims to develop high-performance direct alcohol fuel cells by using graphene oxide nanosheets between anode and membrane to reduce fuel crossover and aligned nanowire electrodes to improve mass transport properties.

Other activities

In his spare time, Yichang enjoys swimming, travelling and playing jigsaw puzzles.
