Dr Shafi is an algebraic geometer and a Research Fellow in the Geometry & Mathematical Physics group.

His research is motivated by questions in Gromov-Witten theory and mirror symmetry, and utilises tools coming from intersection theory, toric geometry, logarithmic geometry and GIT.
