Death Before Birth Report to the Human Tissue Authority
Sadly, after miscarriage many women and their partners struggle in emotional isolation. Bereavement care is important to improve outcomes: good care cannot eliminate pain and grief, but it can help parents through a time of trauma. Poor care can and does make things much worse. Unfortunately the bereavement services available to parents vary hugely between different regions and different stages of pregnancy.
A new study confirms that choices for the disposal of pregnancy remains are improving but still limited, poorly explained to patients and extremely variable between different hospitals around the country. Tommy’s researchers are committed to better understanding such different experiences of miscarriage and finding ways to help.
