High resolution imaging and analysis of blood vessel formation and flow

This project aims to monitor, track, manipulate and analyse in detail the process of angiogenesis and to measure blood flow in vessels.  This process will be probed in a number of ways from using fluorescently tagged protein to nanoparticles coated with luminescent metal probes.  Images generated with these probes by time-lapse confocal microscopy and computational algorithms developed to calculate and model changes in vessel morphology and lumen size in developing vessels.
