Biography

James Hughes began his integrated master’s degree in chemistry (MChem) at the University of Hull in 2011 and was awarded his first class degree in June 2016. His master’s project was completed under the supervision of Professor Steve Archibald and was entitled: “Development of metabolically trapped PET tracers for the evaluation of fatty acid β-oxidation in ischemic myocardium”.  James joined the Physical Sciences for Health Centre for Doctoral Training at the University of Birmingham in September 2016. 

His PhD is 'Development of mass spectrometry methods to predict disease progression in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease'.
