Jana studied Biomedical Physics at Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. Her bachelor thesis was dealing with proton therapy of the eye. In October 2014 she started working on her master thesis in the Laboratory of Intracellular Ion Channels in Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava where she investigated the influence of various substances on redox regulation of mitochondrial chloride channels isolated from rat cardiomyocytes. She graduated in June 2016 and started her PhD in Birmingham in September 2016.
Her PhD is 'LESA mass spectrometry of microbes: Towards point-of-care diagnostic for wound infection'.
