Brexit and Citizen's Rights- what are the facts?
A new Brexit factsheet series by the ESRC-funded UK in a Changing Europe initiative has been published. The Citizens’ Rights factsheet is co-authored by Dr Nando Sigona and draws on the IRiS led ongoing study on EU families and Eurochildren in Brexiting Britain. The factsheet examines the current rights related to free movement of EU27/EEA citizens and the possible ramifications that may occur as these rights are renegotiated as part of the Brexit process. Dr Sigona outlines the potential outcomes for freedom of movement as well the consequences such outcomes may have such as a large scale increase in applications for dual nationality or the voluntary return of EU citizens to their country of origin.
