The Welfare Bricolage Project (UPWEB)

The Welfare Bricolage project (UPWEB) is reconceptualising welfare theory through responding to the question of how all residents living in superdiverse neighbourhoods put together their healthcare. The project is taking place in four European cities: Birmingham (UK), Bremen (Germany), Lisbon (Portugal) and Uppsala (Sweden). The project is engaging with healthcare users and healthcare providers to explore the ways in which residents of superdiverse communities address their healthcare needs through a range of formal and informal healthcare provision. Our latest video presents research findings from the UPWEB project work being carried out in two neighbourhoods of Birmingham, Edgbaston and Handsworth.
