West Midlands Drosophila Research Seminars
The University of Birmingham Drosophila Labs hold regular research seminars together with the Fly Labs from the Aston University and the University of Warwick. This seminar schedule is currently organised by Dr Carolina Rezaval.
The following research labs participate: Badenhorst, Brogna, Chen, Chatterjee, Fan, Hidalgo, Nezis, Ratheesh, Renault, Rezaval, Saunders, Slack, Soller, Tuxworth.

West Midlands Drosophila Annual Symposium
Once a year, we hold an West Midlands Drosophila Symposium. The location rotates and with the location, the hosts organising it also rotate. During the pandemic, these symposia were held over zoom. We are planning to return to organising them in physical locations at one of our universities. The following universities participate in these annual symposium: Aston University, University of Birmingham, University of Leicester, University of Nottingham and University of Warwick.
University of Birmingham Research Seminars
Drosophila researchers are also invited to speak at our weekly Research Seminars, e.g. within the Structural and Molecular Cell Biology theme at the School of Biosciences and Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences Seminar Series of the Medical School.
Internal School Seminars
Our lab team members give periodic seminars at our Friday seminars, e.g. within the Structural and Molecular Cell Biology theme at the School of Biosciences.
