MMIN Lunchtime PGR Careers Series

The Midlands Medical Imaging Network (MMIN) are hosting a series of one-hour virtual career events every Wednesday (1st-22nd July) targeted at early career researchers/postgraduate students who are interested in looking at various post-PhD career paths. Different speakers will be presenting each week.
The below multi-industry professionals will be delivering short presentations on their current roles and experiences surrounding progression in their chosen fields. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session, should you wish to submit questions to speakers in advance, please send them through to chbh@contacts.bham.ac.uk.
Dr Holly Prescott

PGR Careers Advisor
Dr Holly Prescott is PGR Careers Adviser at the University of Birmingham. She holds a PhD in English Literature from Birmingham and a PGDip (QCG) in Career Guidance from Coventry University. She has seven years' experience in postgraduate student recruitment and careers support.

Helen Lambert

Research Development Manager & Research Facilitator - Postgraduate Funding
Helen has been working within the University of Birmingham's College of Life and Environmental Sciences Research Support Office for the last seven years and has covered applications to all major funders, across all Schools and supported academics at every career stage. Her core role is as Research Facilitator for the School of Psychology, providing on-the-ground support for all research grant applications in the School. Alongside this she is currently acting as Research Development Manager for the College of LES, heading up the LES RSO, managing collaborations across Colleges and feeding into College and University research strategy.

Dr Massimiliano Di Luca

Research Scientist
Dr Max Di Luca researches human perception and technology. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from Brown University. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at Birmingham but has in the past juggled his research at Birmingham with Facebook, as a Research Scientist. Fundings include Marie Curie, BBSRC, Royal Society grants but also Facebook, P&G, Ansell sponsorships.
