Background
 This seminar explores the challenges presented by the global crisis of COVID-19, especially in the New Zealand context, and how it has created new groups of vulnerable people. COVID-19 has also highlighted the fact that as individuals and communities, we are not ‘financially resilient’ to withstand the vulnerable circumstances facing us in the months and years ahead.\n
 The seminar focuses on financial vulnerabilty and how it is likely to impact on overall wellbeing. In New Zealand, the young and lower income people have suffered the brunt of financial hardship but New Zealand has also seen some new emerging groups that have needed to access hardship grants/assistance.\n
 The seminar shares some insights from New Zealand’s approach to address the impact of this crisis and explore potential application/relevance of this approach to other countries.\n
