SUMMARY:Pension Decision Making in the New Retirement Landscape
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/196210
DESCRIPTION:The online launch of the new CHASM report Pension Decision Making in the New Retirement Landscape: Understanding and improving outcomes for consumers.
The launch will include a presentation of the key findings of the research, followed by a Q&A and discussion with a panel of experts from across the pensions field. It will be held on Zoom on May 11th from 3.00pm - 4.30pm.\n
The project has developed an in-depth understanding of the decisions people make about accessing their defined contribution (DC) pensions, and has also investigated the effectiveness of current consumer protection strategies. This has involved 47 in-depth qualitative interviews with DC pension consumers, as well as two focus groups. Our analysis pays particular attention to the impact of social context on decision making - an area that is under-explored in existing research regarding the 2015 pension freedoms. The research has been carried out by Dr Louise Overton, Director of CHASM, and Dr Chris Q Smith, Research Fellow.  \n
If you would like to register for the event, or have any questions, please email Dr Chris Q Smith at C.Q.Smith.1@bham.ac.uk \n
