The CCB Journal Club aims to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among computational biologists across the University of Birmingham, covering the Women's and Queen Elizabeth hospitals. The group also strives to provide a forum for researchers who have an interest in applying computational approaches to their own work to meet with experienced computational biologists, thereby establishing a network through which productive scientific collaborations can be fostered and encouraged.
Our informal sessions meet fortnightly, providing us with an opportunity to get together and discuss issues relating to bioinformatics. Members of staff present a paper of interest at each session. We also try to be social and encourage people to bring their lunch and get to know each other.
