The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow in November. It aims to bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

How we are contributing to COP26

We are planning a series of events and activities relating to COP26. On this page we will be sharing details of what we are doing and how you can get involved.

COP26 Universities Network

Birmingham is a member of the COP26 Universities Network, which brings together of over 55 UK-based universities and research centres working together to raise ambition for tangible outcomes from COP26. The Network aims to create lasting partnerships and legacies that reach beyond this single event.

Forum for Global Challenges

The Forum for Global Challenges is an ambitious international conference that will generate and share solutions to some of the most pressing challenges faced by our planet and its people, from climate change and destruction of the natural world, to poverty and rising inequalities, and the effects of the global pandemic. Join us for a unique programme of events and discussion, as we build towards the inaugural Forum in Birmingham, May 2022.
