DESCRIPTION:The CRRE national seminar series, sponsored by the Society for Educational Studies (SES), has begun to establish a vital critical space where educators, researchers and activists engaged in race equality work meet together to discuss new research evidence and share their experiences.\n

 Professor Gargi Bhattacharyya is Professor of Sociology at the University of East London. She has written extensively in the area of ‘race’ and racisms, sexuality, global cultures and the ‘war on terror’. She is completing a book with Palgrave Macmillan on equality and justice in a post-austerity world.\n
Cuts Both Ways: Ableism, Racism and the Systemic Violence of Special Education
 Dr Gregg D. Beratan is the Director of the ADAPT Rights Group (Mumbai, India.) He gained his Ph.D at the Institute of Education, University of London and is best known for his research on disability rights, youth identities and institutional ableism in education policy.\n
