Black History on Film: screening of Babylon (1980), followed by a panel discussion featuring Dr Rob Waters (History), Dr Sadiah Qureshi (History), and Professor Gavin Schaffer (History).

Babylon focuses on the life of Blue, a reggae musician in South East London. The film provides a searing portrait of Black life in 1980s Britain and deals with themes of police brutality, poverty, and disillusionment.
