49th Parallel is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary e-journal devoted to American and Canadian Studies. Since 1999, it has sought to transcend traditional boundaries and promote innovative and challenging academic work.It publishes on subjects as varied as film studies, American foreign policy, African American studies, Canadian literature, American literature, political debate and e-culture. The journal also features regular reviews of academic and cultural texts, debates about emerging issues in North American culture and politics, and notice of events and conferences in American Studies here and abroad.
