We will be continuing Serious About Comedy and embarking on a major project related to our work on Waswasa with Soul City Arts. We will also be devising exciting new research and education strategies with our partners. With University Music and the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, we are delighted to be hosting the Our City of Stories programme of concerts and events.

Our City of Stories

Our City of Stories is continuing the buzz generated by the Commonwealth Games through music, performance and spoken word. Guest artists from across Birmingham are coming to campus to tell their own stories and those of their communities, in an unmissable programme of new work including folk, photography, jazz, Punjabi music, gospel and hip hop.

Our City of Stories is all about forging links between our University and the many diverse cultures across our city, shining a light on its vast range of creativity: the arts and culture that inhabit our everyday lives and shape who we are.
