SUMMARY:Illuminating the invisible - physics and light
UID:www.birmingham.ac.uk/212147
DESCRIPTION:Stretching far beyond the visible realm we encounter every day, light allows us to explore the world at extreme scales: from tiny quantum fluctuations to the largest structures in the Universe. In our event we will 'Illuminate the Invisible', showing how we can understand the fundamental nature of light, use it as a tool in unexpected ways and scratch the surface of what light can teach us. \n
Illuminating the Invisible will introduce fundamental concepts in the physics of light, with short talks covering the nature of light, how light can be used as a tool in experimental physics and some of what we can learn about the Universe through observations of light. We will also bring a range of hand-on activities and interactive exhibits to inspire and engage.\n
 Free event, registration required\n

This event is co-curated by Culture Forward and the School of Physics and Astronomy
This event is part of Birmingham Light Festival (19-22 February 2025)
