DESCRIPTION:DOMUS, the Latin term for home, is the place where a collaborative cluster of historians work on the social, political and cultural histories of schooling, education and childhood. \n
 This event, which will launch the DOMUS research centre, offers the opportunity to discuss the place of memory and commemoration in public history- making. These issues will be considered in the context of urban histories relating to children, war and the city of Birmingham.\n
 Discussion will follow screening of a 30-minute film ‘Beyond the Battlefield’ directed by filmmaker Sam Lockyer.\n
