What are the eligibility criteria to apply for the CIP Innovation Fund?
To be eligible for funding from the CIP innovation fund you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Small or Medium Size Enterprise with fewer than 250 employees and an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million Euro and/or annual balance sheet not exceeding 43 million Euro
- Be located in the Greater Birmingham Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) more developed area which comprises most postcodes in the Birmingham, Solihull, Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest Districts
- Have received less than 200,000 euros of De Minimis State Aid in the last 3 financial year
- You will also need to complete an application form which will be assessed.

What are the conditions to access the CIP Innovation Fund?
Acceptance on the programme is only available to eligible businesses (see eligibility criteria above) and is subject to successful assessment of a completed application form detailing the amount of grant requested, how the grant will be used and impact on business development/growth. Expenses will have to be approved by the CIP team prior to being incurred with payments leaving bank accounts (defrayal) by 21 April 2023. Invoices and defrayal evidence will be required as part of the Grant payment request.

Can I apply for the Climate Innovation Fund if my business is not registered yet on Companies House?
We can only accept applications that meet the eligibility criteria and businesses that are registered with Companies House at the point of submitting their application.
