Join us on 30th June 2023 to celebrate with partners, residents and friends.
Over the last 18 months, we have been working in the Tyseley area of the River Cole Corridor to enhance habitats, remove man-made barriers, waste and invasive species, create new public green spaces for play, exercise and learning and install a series of community-co-designed wayfinding, planting and arts interventions.
The aim of the project has been to rehabilitate an underutilised urban, green space to create an accessible and connected green corridor in East Birmingham, as well as increase biodiversity, made the area cleaner and start to create an area that provides benefits and opportunities for the people living in Tyseley and Hay Mills.
On the 30th June we want to celebrate the journey so far and also talk about what's next. You will have the chance to go on a guided cycle ride or walk to see the changes that have been made and new facilities. You can also hear about our stewardship approach that will ensure the sustainable long-term engagement and management of the area as a community commons.

Cycle Skills (PM):
Children of all ages can enjoy some time on a bike, riding in our cycle skills area. We will provide bikes and helmets, and our instructors will help children to improve their cycling whilst they have fun riding on bikes! If they can't ride yet, we'll have balance bikes and scooters or our instructors will try to get them pedalling for the first time! We can take groups of 6-10 depending on their cycling abilities for the cycle skills session.
