About us

The Daphnia Facility offers a community service, ranging from research and teaching support to training and maintenance of Daphnia stock collections. The facility has three temperature-controlled rooms for ecotoxicology and exposure biology experiments. The facility contributes to teaching and research in the College and beyond through the following activities:

  1. Maintaining an ever-growing stock collection of Daphnia strains
  2. Providing support to teaching by contributing to undergraduate practicals
  3. Contributing to the research excellence of the University of Birmingham and the Life and Environmental Science College
