The Daphnia Facility offers a community service, ranging from research and teaching support to training and maintenance of Daphnia stock collections. The facility has three temperature-controlled rooms for ecotoxicology and exposure biology experiments. The facility contributes to teaching and research in the College and beyond through the following activities:
- Maintaining an ever-growing stock collection of Daphnia strains
- Providing support to teaching by contributing to undergraduate practicals
- Contributing to the research excellence of the University of Birmingham and the Life and Environmental Science College
