The format of the event will be via live video link and like "Question Time" where the questions are gathered beforehand to ensure range and balance. These could range from questions about those conflicts, recent events or leadership.

Background

General Petraeus has had a truly remarkable career as a professional military commander in the US Army, defence intellectual, and American public servant.  Most notably of his recent military leadership roles were as commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Commander, U.S. Forces - Afghanistan from 2010, to 2011. His other four-star assignments include serving as the Commander, US Central Command from 2008, to 2010, and as Commanding General, Multi National Force - Iraq (MNF-I) from 2007, to 2008.  As commander of MNF-I, Petraeus oversaw all coalition forces in Iraq.  After 37 years in the US Army he served from 2011-2012 as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

General Petraeus graduated from West Point Military Academy as a distinguished cadet (top 5% of his class).  Subsequently in 1983 at the US Army Command and General Staff College he was awarded top graduate thereby winning the General George C Marshall Award.  In 1985 he earned an MPA and 1987 a PhD from Princeton University.
