Russian invasion of Ukraine

Join us for the fifth edition of the Institute for Conflict, Cooperation and Security (ICCS) roundtable in the series ‘Expert Accounts of International Conflict: The Russian invasion of Ukraine’.

The 5th ICCS roundtable on this series will provide expert accounts on the Russian war against Ukraine. We will discuss state- and nation-building practices promoted by Russia in the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics over the period 2014-21 and their impact to the current war; Russia's uses of blame in their strategic security narratives; the belief systems associated with the war and its implications for political and military coexistence in the future; nationalism, nation-building, national identity and leadership perceptions in Ukraine and Russia; and social media campaigns in Ukraine focusing on the role of political humour and laughter in the Ukrainian resistance.

Register in advance for this meeting.

Our roundtable series will continue in the next academic year in October.
