Please note: Travel Bursary applications are now CLOSED

Due to the postponement of the 3rd Annual Network Meeting 24-27 March 2020 due to COVID-19, all awarded travel bursary recipients for this event will be contacted when the meeting is rescheduled.

The Travel Bursary Scheme offers travel bursaries of to up to £800 GBP (this is in addition to the delegate airfare contribution of up to 50% of the total flight costs to Kenya, up to a maximum of £250 GBP) to support travel costs to attend our 3rd Annual Network Meeting. This scheme is open to the following Network members:

  • Any Network Member who is based in an organisation within an LMIC country
  • Early Career Researchers (individuals who do not currently hold a substantive position within their organisation)

Applicants for a travel bursary must:

  • Register to attend the meeting
  • Submit an abstract for the meeting

The Network will typically only support one travel bursary from a single institution and preference will be given to applicants not previously awarded a BactiVac Travel Bursary.

Testimonials from members awarded travel bursaries in 2018 and 2019 demonstrate the benefit of this financial support to enable attendance at our annual Network event.

Full details relating to the payment of travel bursaries are available in our Reimbursement Guidance (PDF 538kb). Applications will be reviewed by the BactiVac Network Operations Management Group (PDF 508kb) after the submission deadline.
