Professor Charlie Craddock

charlie-craddockProfessor Charlie Craddock is Director of the Centre for Clinical Haematology (CCH), a newly established clinical research facility whose mission is to develop and deliver novel drug and transplant therapies in patients with haematological malignancies.

Charlie’s work has resulted in the development of an internationally competitive portfolio of early phase clinical trials in allogeneic stem cell transplantation and myeloid and lymphoid leukaemias, which are run from the centre for Clinical Haematology.

Working closely with scientists within the School of Cancer Studies, these trials allow rapid translation of scientific advances into clinical practice.

The University of Birmingham and the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHBFT) have made a major investment in the development of this academic haematology programme in Birmingham and the West Midlands, which now hosts one of the largest stem cell transplant programmes within the United Kingdom.
