Phil Blythe is Professor of Intelligent Transport Systems and Director of the Transport Operations Research Group, at Newcastle University
Professor Blythe's research into Intelligent Transport Systems covers road user charging, smartcard systems, wireless ad-hoc networks, telematics to support the elderly and the mobility impaired, and mobile information delivery systems.
His high profile role as lead expert on the Governments Foresight Intelligent Infrastructure study brought him to National prominence (2004-2007). Most recently he has led considerable research into Electric Vehicles and their associated Charging Infrastructure, both in the UK and Europe.
